During this period of 100 days of Genocide Commemoration, Shalom Ministries – Rwanda has visited widows of AVEGA- Agahozo in Ruhango District on 29 June 2013. Shalom Ministries- Rwanda visit to these widows was to comfort and give them an aid consisting of 25 goats and clothes. Each widow got one goat to breed so that it will help her meet some basic needs like paying health insurance.
Drocella NDUWIMANA, the coordinator of Shalom Ministries – Rwanda, told them:” We came to comfort you in this period of 100 days of Genocide commemoration. God who helped you survive is on your side and has a good plan for your life”.
Clotilde Kangabe, who represented the local government in Ruhango, thanked Shalom Ministries-Rwanda for this aid. She told the beneficiaries to take care of these goats so that in return, they may help their fellow widows breed one once they produce.
Shalom Ministries- Rwanda started in 1994 after the genocide by three widows. They used to get together, share their stories and cry. It grew up into a prayer group and now it is a ministry with 380 members in three provinces of Rwanda.
